Bayahibe
To only 20 minutes of the Roman is Bayahibe, a small population of fishermen, where is one of the prettiest beaches of the east: the beach of Bayahibe. The Dominicus beach is another one of most popular in the zone. From both and also from the port of the Roman boats, catamarans and boats weigh anchor towards Saona Island and Island Catalina. The Saona island is greater in surface than the Catalina and it is within the National Park of the East. Isla Saona

The Saona Island is greatest of the adjacent islands to the Dominican Republic. The Roman belongs to the province and is part of the National Park of the East. The island also is of great attractive tourist by its beautiful beaches and natural beauties

Beach the island counts on two permanent slumses, the towns of Mano Juan and Catuano. Mano Juano is a fishing town of wood house and Catuano, has a detachment of navy military. In this island is the famous Cave of Cotubanama, the island contains a high percentage of endemic species and floral wealth. In the zone they appear several associations of vegetal species, which integrate different ecosystems, between which the semi-humid forests, the salty scrubs, and mangrove swamps or forests can be distinguished, that are made up of four neotropical species: mangle black, red, white and button.

In the Saona also species of marine turtles including caguama have been identified, sea turtle, green turtle and to tinglar
